liberals for forests emerged to put pressure on governments to pull the bulldozers out of our beautiful oldgrowth forests.

A recent survey shows that 88% of Australians do not want our oldgrowth forests burnt for power. Yet the major political parties joined together to pass legislation to allow this to happen. The continued destruction is an example of the degree to which the wishes of Australians are ignored.

liberals for forests represents the communities views, not that of party machines.

liberals for forests are already making a difference in Australia's parliaments. liberals for forests allows Australians to show that people matter and that they care about the Australia's fragile and precious environment.

The Western Australia election, in February 2001, was a spectacular debut for liberals for forests. In only our first election we were the third largest party in the seats that we contested. liberals for forests now has a member in parliament, Janet Woollard, to represent the views of voters who care about the environment and accountability.

liberals for forests will be offering this choice to many other Australians in the federal election. Many Australians will now have an opportunity to vote for people that care about their communities.
